"Tropical Horse I" In the Collection of A.C. in Lexington, Kentucky
This lovely horse is the complement using opposite fabric choices as compared to the currently available "Tropical Horse II." The free-motion quilting in the background is loops and leaves, reflecting the tropical nature of this beautiful equid. The "Mohair Magic" technique was used to apply the multi-colored mane of dyed mohair curls from Strings and Things. The backing of each wall-hanging shows the quilting, as the turquoise thread outlines the horse heads and shows the loops and leaves in more detail.
In the collection of this lovely lady in Lexington, Kentucky
This landscape quilt is based on a photograph I took of our farm. It is layered fabric, fusible applique, and lots and lots of free-motion thread embellishing! The sheep appear woolly and the daisies escape from the borders. A truly unique piece.
"Woolly Lamb in
Magenta and Purples"
In the Collection of S.W. in Wales, N.Y.
This adorable and unique "Woolly Lamb in Magenta and Purples" collectible was machine appliqued from a unique FRR Pattern. The "Mohair Magic" technique was used to apply the gorgeous multi-colored wool curls (from Strings & Things). The free-motion quilting included loops and spirals that continue the motion of the curls! The binding was finished by hand. This 14.5" square wall-hanging was completed with a hand-sewn dowel loop and an embroidered information patch.
