"The 'Wizard of Oz'-Inspired Horse of A Different Color"
This piece was inspired by the original movie based on the “Wonderful Wizard of Oz” book and was accepted and shown in the juried Kentucky Heritage Quilt Society “Quilts Inspired By Books” show in 2010.
This unique collectible art quilt is currently being presented at K&M Tack in Alexandria, KY.
This art quilt is free-motion quilted to highlight the fabric motifs - circles in the background and stars & spirals on the border. The "Mohair Magic" technique was used to add the magical dyed mohair curls and multi-colored specialty yarns. The binding was finished by hand.

“Tropical Horse II"
This piece was inspired by the remarkable colors & intensity of the jungle prints. The tropical multi-colors of the horse’s mane were made by applying Jennifer Myka’s Original “Mohair Magic” Technique to attach the dyed mohair curls from Strings and Things. The loops and leaves were free-motion quilted by the artist using a home sewing machine.
This collectible can be acquired from K&M Tack in Alexandria, Kentucky.
The backing of this art piece shows the quilting, as the turquoise thread outlines the horse's head and shows the loops and leaves in more detail.

"Valentine Horses"
This piece was inspired by the beautiful red fabrics and wonderful red-hued mohair which reminded the artist of true love & Valentine’s Day.
You can acquire this one-of-a-kind collectible from K&M Tack in Alexandria, KY.
The "Valentine Horses" were machine appliqued and Jennifer Myka's "Mohair Magic" technique was used to attach the reds and rich browns in the manes. The background was free-motion stippled by the artist with Sulky thread and a Swarovski red crystal heart accents the bottom right corner.
